Purchase Agreement/Health Guarantee
Koedam Kennels guarantees our puppies to be in the best health at the time of sale. All shots and wormers will be up to date and the puppies will be free from obvious defects at the time of delivery or pick up.
A deposit of $200.00 will hold the puppy of your choice until your puppy is ready. Deposits are non-refundable but are applied to the purchase price.
Puppies can be stressed by the change in environment. Problems can occur such as diarrhea, coccidiosis (bloody stools) etc. can occur and must be treated. These conditions are the responsibility of the purchaser and should be checked by a veterinarian.
Minor health problems that can be taken care of by medication or surgery are not covered by our guarantee.
Deposits are not refunded unless changes to your puppy’s health are determined.
Buyer’s responsibilities:
Have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian as soon as possible after pick up.
Be sure you provide your puppy with routine preventive care, such as, but not limited to:
- Annual physical examinations by a licensed veterinarian
- Follow veterinarian guidelines for vaccinations and deworming.
Sellers Responsibility/Health Guarantee:
Your puppy is guaranteed for one year against fatal and life altering congenital diseases which will adversely affect the health of the puppy. This includes hip dysplasia, kidney, heart, pancreas, spine and liver problems of a severe life threatening or altering nature. All items are covered under this guarantee are by replacement only. We do not give refunds or cover shipping or travel expenses.
A puppy showing any serious genetic or congenital defect will be replaced as follows:
- Puppy must show the defect by one year of age. Seller will pay up to the price of the puppy for any surgeries or health related items necessary up to the price of the puppy.
- If a replacement puppy is needed, it will be mutually agreed on by both parties and will be of comparable value. It is understood the replacement puppy may not be from the same litter.
Buyer is responsible for the transportation costs to and from us on a replacement puppy.
Guarantee is not transferable to a second party.
Seller is responsible for bills up to the price of the puppy if it is congenital or genetic.
Guarantee does not cover Coccidia, Giardia or Kennel Cough which are common in puppies that are moved or stressed, and is usually caused by bacteria. Kennel Cough is a self-limiting and, like the common cold, must run its course. (Your puppy will have been immunized for Kennel Cough so that will reduce its likelihood). Should your puppy acquire Kennel Cough, on its own, it is not life threatening.
There are certain disorders that may be caused by environmental factors such as, but not limited to: allergies, thyroid dysfunction, demodectic mange, cancer, tumors, growths scabies, mites related illness and other autoimmune disorders which are not covered by this guarantee.
